The SmartSPIN coordinators, Luciano De Tommasi and Ruchi Agrawal, recently participated in an interview with Areti Ntaradimou at the EU Projects Zone Podcast of ENLIT.
During this engaging conversation, they discussed the SmartSPIN project and how our initiative is dedicated to forging a groundbreaking business model within the energy sector.
The SmartSPIN project aims to remove the current market barriers to integrating energy efficiency smart services in the commercial rental sector. To succeed, the consortium is developing a new business model beneficial for all parties involved. According to Luciano, “the new business model is expected to allow both owners and tenants to profit from energy efficiency improvements and flexibility services, redistributing the costs and also the benefits in a more fair and transparent way.” In this context, the main target audience of the project are landlords and tenants of commercial rated building across Europe. Additional, other stakeholders are facility management companies, energy service providers, associations, finance providers, policymakers, among others.
