SmartSPIN interactive web app: enhancing the potential of energy management
The SmartSPIN team has been working on different tasks in order to gather data analytics for energy management.
Assessment of the potential for energy management within performance based contracts
Main efforts have been put so far on developing the interactive webapp that will show the main outcomes in terms of the identification of the most interesting Energy Performance Contracting opportunities. The following steps on this activity will focus on the identification of the most suitable non-residential building typologies and the quantification of its potential, through performance simulation, for performance-based contracting and energy management.
SmartSPIN early building diagnostics
Tecnalia is leading the development of algorithms for early energy building diagnostics based on provided data from the Spanish demos. A technical visit to those demos have been carried out the exploration of the data provided, the definition of the algorithms and the calculation of the Spanish pilots baseline.
Similar efforts will be made with the rest of the demos.

Development of automated M&V approach
HEBES is leading the development of the automated Measurement & Verification (M&V) toolkit of SmartSPIN. The goal is to expand the way the task of M&V is defined, and produce concrete implementations of M&V methods. Starting from the most common way of framing the M&V task, M&V as a prediction task, the chaining method for non-routine adjustments proposed by the IPMPV application guide on non-routine events and adjustments (EVO 10400-1:2020) will be operationalized. Furthermore, M&V methods will be produced that first identify specific states (or events) of the building operation before the intervention and matching them to states (or events) after the intervention. Finally, tools for M&V model auditing will be developed so as to enable practitioners to gain insight on what a model has learned and how consistent its predictions are.
